Each of our sensory rooms differs in their design and equipment. This has been purposefully thought out so that our users can make their own choices about which room best suits their individual sensory needs. When you are using the multi-sensory rooms bear in mind that you do not need to have all of the multi-sensory effects on at one time. Snoezelen support staff are on hand to offer advice and assistance about using the multi-sensory rooms and to help you get the most out of your session.

THE HYDRO POOL
Many people choose the Hydro pool because of the health benefits it offers. It is also a fun activity enjoying the warm bubbly water and waterfall feature. The dimension of the pool is 2.5 x 3.5metres and is about 1m deep. It is warm, heated to 36 degrees and has optional bubbles and water cascade. The pool also has several features which we hope will encourage movement and exercise. There is underwater lighting & music. Floats and a handrail provide extra support for those who may feel less confident in the water. Overhead hoisting from changing room to pool and elevating changing beds provide greater accessibility to our members. There are corner steps and stability rails for members to use on entering the pool.
THE WHITE ROOM
The White Room is the most typical 'Snoezelen' room. The White Room is the largest multi-sensory room and can easily accommodate a group of 6 or 7 people. There is a double heated waterbed which resonates with the sound of the music offering a more enhanced tactile experience. This room has several pieces of equipment which can be controlled by large button switches, changing the colours or turning them on or off, giving you the user, control. This is very empowering for those who have fewer opportunities for control within their lives due to individual needs.
'The Zone’ is our soft play area which opened in Summer 2015. It is a large, double height soft play area designed for use by both adults and children. Promoting multi sensory opportunities, our large ball pit has interactive under lighting and vi-bro acoustic speakers so you can really feel the music! The ball pit and other areas are accessible to wheelchair users, with an overhead hoist available. ‘The Zone’ also features a slide, a climbing platform, a giant musical keyboard, interactive wall and an air powered ball-shooter. Down the corridor of the soft play is an interactive wall.
THE STAR ROOM
The Star Room is a cosy black UV room with a curved ceiling lined with fibre-optic carpeting. Relax on the heated waterbed or cosy beanbag and stare up at the ceiling of stars. There is a shadow board which can be drawn on with an LED torch - this fades within 20 seconds but the effect can be quite mesmerising. Large chunky switches on the walls activate the glowing shape of a star and a planet. A curtain of fibre optics splits the small room into two. One side has interactive fun with games, a fibre optic light display, bubble tube and UV lamp all controlled with easily accessible large touch switches. The room now also includes an interactive projector with games and videos of Snoezelen staff explaining how to use some of the equipment in the centre.
THE BLUE ROOM
The Blue Room is favoured by many. The room itself is curved and cozy. It has a bubble tube and a hurricane tube which are controlled by chunky switches changing colours at the touch of a button. Fibre optics drape over beanbags and a projected image of stars moving gently on the walls above the king size waterbed makes for a very relaxing experience. The Blue Room is often where people choose to have a hand and foot massage.
THE INTERACTIVE ROOM
The Interactive Room is a new multi-sensory environment to explore, play and interact with the environment around you. The room’s main feature is a huge interactive floor mat, which is connected to a computer with hundreds of different games and programs to try. The Interactive floor projector promotes exercise and reacts to any movement making it ideal for people with or without physical impairments. There are also a huge number of educational programs including counting, shape/colour recognition and much, much more! The room also features a warm double waterbed, sound and light reactive equipment, bubble tubes and fibre optics.
